Self-Worth

One Flaw in Women -
Women have strengths that amaze men...
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they think there
is no strength left.
they know that a hug and a kiss
can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or email you
to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what
makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their
family and friends.
Women have vital things to say
and everything to give...
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

Hard Work Pays Off!

I provide administrative support to several people at my job.  I was asked by a Vice President to assist in the absense of one of his team members.  I got this bouquet of flowers and the note attached to the bouquet that read: THANK YOU, Colleen - partnering with you has been specacular.  Thank you so very much for all your help.  I can't begin to tell you how much you are appreciated.  Ero Johnson & the entire Endowment Funds Team.

Valentine's Day

Growing up I looked forward to Valentine's Day - waiting to see the fanciest, sweetest, or silliest cards I would receive.  One time in my entire life I received the most gorgeous dozen pink roses from Tyler's dad.  I dried them and saved them for a very long time.

Today my Valentine's post is dedicated to my son Tyler.  18 years ago, I was pregnant.  I worked at Stationers Distributing Company.  I used to take my lunch hour and go sit in my car and take a nap.  That day I felt Tyler move for the first time.  It was the so exciting to me.  Every Valentine's Day I think of being alone, pregnant, but feeling my baby move is my fondest memory of Valentine's Day, even 18 years later.

Happy Valentine's Day to my Tyler Scott!

Snow and Cold Go Away

Denver has hardly had any snow until the last month. Now we are in a deep freeze. This is the forecast high today. Only 93 days until Spring 2011 - please hurry and get here. I am ready for cool morning, warm days and perfect evenings.
